MMDA tests HOV lane

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will put to the test starting today its High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane that intends to move people faster while driving along Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).

THE government has been moving on two fronts on the problem of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT), which continues to break down, causing great inconvenience to thousands of commuters who now face an even worse prospect of danger to their lives following a recent accident in which a woman passenger had her arm severed.

AT the start of the “ber” months this year, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) advised motorists to plan their trips in the coming weeks and months leading to Christmas in December, so as to avoid adding to the traffic on Epifanio de los Santos Ave. (EDSA). Traffic is usually heavy at this time of the year because of sales held by giant malls, 16 which are along EDSA, the MMDA said.
