NPAs abduct miner

A small-time miner was abducted by alleged New People’s Army (NPA) rebels Saturday in Agusan del Sur.
Capt. Jasper T. Gacayan, 401st Brigade Civil Military Operations (CMO) officer said victim Carzon Ceasar C. Lademora was snatched from his mining tunnel that was ransacked by the rebels who are said to be from the guerilla-Front Committee 14 of the CPP-NPA Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee led by certain ”Monic”.

Secretary Silvestre Bello III, chairman of the Philippine government’s negotiating panel in the peace talks with the National Democratic Front-Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (NDF-CPP-NPA) , said he had a dinner meeting with NDF chief negotiator Fred Agcaoili, at which he appealed that the other side “lessen the violence.”
