Eleazar: 6,000 cops, soldiers to secure Batasan

About 6,000 soldiers and policemen will be deployed to secure the Batasang Pambansa complex in Quezon City during the second State-of-Nation-Address of President Duterte on July 24, Chief Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, Quezon City Police District director, said yesterday.

Casino attack smoke kills 37

A gunman stormed a crowded casino in Pasay City early yesterday morning and used gasoline to set gambling tables on fire, creating clouds of smoke that swept through the crowds and killed at least 37 people, police said.
