10 ASG bandits dead in 2-hour gun battle

Elements of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) encountered a 150-man strong Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) members, killing at least 10 of the bandits while suffering three casualties during a two-hour firefight Saturday in Patikul, Sulu.

Three soldiers were killed while 17 others were wounded in an encounter with members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in Patikul, Sulu, Saturday.

Tan Jr., the spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Western Mindanao Command (AFP-WestMinCom), said troops from the 35th Infantry Battalion led by Major Saddama were on patrol operations when it encountered more or less 150 fully armed ASG bandits led by Radullan Sahiron at Sitio Dyundangan, Brgy Buhanginan, Patikul, Sulu.
