MILF, MNLF, Abu Sayyaf, and peace in Mindanao

ARMED Forces of the Philippines (AFP) troops have stepped up their drive against the Abu Sayyaf in Sulu. They have killed 17 of the outlaws, including two relatives of Abu Sayyaf leader Radullan Sahiron, while 18 soldiers have been wounded, the AFP said this last weekend.

At least 10 Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) terroristS, including two close relatives of bandit leader Radullan Sahiron, were killed while scores of others were wounded as a result of the all-out offensive by government soldiers in Patikul, Sulu.

Army Major Felimon I. Tan Jr., the spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Western Mindanao Command (AFP-WestMinCom), said troops from the 35th Infantry Battalion led by Major Saddama were on patrol operations when it encountered more or less 150 fully armed ASG bandits led by Radullan Sahiron at Sitio Dyundangan, Brgy Buhanginan, Patikul, Sulu.
