ASG member falls in Bohol

The Armed Forces of the Philippines yesterday confirmed the arrest of an Abu Sayyaf Group member who was among those who entered Bohol last month to kidnap foreign and local tourists.

THE Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) assured last weekend that it will wipe out the Abu Sayyaf within three months. Three months ago, President Duterte had ordered the military to finish the Abu Sayyaf in six months. “We are confident that we will meet our targets and deadline,” AFP spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said.

Air Force Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla, spokesman of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), called on leaders of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) to agree to signing a joint ceasefire with the government if it is really sincere in achieving lasting peace in the country.
