Senate eyes approval of P2,000 SSS pension hike

Senator Cynthia Villar has expressed optimism that the Senate will approve a bill granting the P2,000 across-the-board increase in the pension of 1.9 million Social Security System (SSS) members.

A measure granting 50 percent discount and value-added tax exemption on the sale of goods and services to Filipino centenarians or those persons 100 years of age or above has been approved by an influential committee in the House of Representatives.
