Sombero returns home

Retired police general Wenceslao “Wally” Sombero returned to the Philippines yesterday morning after being threatened to have his passport cancelled and be arrested for snubbing summons to appear before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee investigating the P50-million bribery scandal involving Chinese gambling tycoon Jack Lam.

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee will recommend to the Senate leadership that retired police general Wenceslao “Wally” Sombero be cited for contempt for his repeated failure to appear at the panel’s investigation into the P50-million bribery scandal involving Chinese gambling tycoon Jack Lam.
