Villegas: Pour love, mercy on Holy Week

The head of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines said more than the traditions, what will make the Holy Week truly “holy” is if one will pour much love into the observance.

The Philippine Dominicans for Justice, Peace, and Care of Creation will hold this year’s Bartolome de las Casas Conference at 8 a.m. at the Blessed Antonio Varona, O.P., Gymnasium at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Intramuros, Manila on April 1 focusing on its advocacy for life.

It would have been best if all the presidential candidates had come to attend the mass celebrated by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle at the Manila Cathedral last Monday, May 2, even if only for the symbolic unity they would have presented to the nation at this time of such great discord and conflict in the closing days of the election campaign.
