Canada passes euthanasia bill

The bill allowing medically-assisted death was passed Friday, and the Senate rejected an amendment which would have suspended a section of the bill requiring that a patient’s death be “reasonably foreseeable,” The National Post newspaper said.

Two weeks before he steps down from office, President Aquino has vetoed two bills, the condonation of unpaid taxes of local water districts and the comprehensive nursing law.
