34th Balikatan begins May

The Government has invited the US military forces to train with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for the 34th iteration of Balikatan (BK), an annual exercise that focuses on mutual defense, counter-terrorism, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief.

Former Foreign Affairs Secretary Domingo L. Siazon Jr., who negotiated the Visiting Forces Agreement with the United States in 1998, died at the age of 77 Tuesday in Japan, the country where he once served as the Philippines’ top diplomat.
