Manila, Philippines – Catholics traditionally observe the month of October as the month of the Holy Rosary, celebrated in many parts of the country with fiestas, Marian processions, and special acts of devotion like the holding of prayer vigils and living rosaries in parish communities and Catholic schools.
Every day, particularly during the month of October, devotees pray the holy rosary in honor of the Blessed Mother to ask for favors, in gratitude for her protection and intercession, or simply to venerate the Mother of God.
In the country, the observance of the feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary on October 7 serves as the highlight of the Holy Rosary month. The event will be marked by Eucharistic celebrations, novenas, and solemn processions. (Christina I. Hermoso)
