Manila, Philippines – A Taiwanese who was arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for credit card fraud turned out to be a wanted murderer in his homeland. Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Ricardo A. David Jr. identified the fugitive as 24-year-old Wu Yen Jung, who is detained at the BI detention center in Bicutan, Taguig City.
David said Wu is now undergoing deportation proceedings after he was arrested by elements of the BI-Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) two weeks ago inside the NBI headquarters on Taft Avenue in Manila.
It was learned that BI operatives picked up Wu at the NBI where he was detained since September 14 when he, along with 14 others, were arrested inside their safehouses in Quezon City for involvement in anomalous credit card transactions. (Jun Ramirez)
