Manila, Philippines – President Benigno S. Aquino III paid tribute to the Manila Hotel last Thursday for its rich history and legacy of hospitality and pledged to work with stakeholders in promoting tourism growth in the country.
The President lauded the historic landmark Manila Hotel, the first five-star hotel in the country, “for providing friendly and accommodating service to guests from all over the world” during its 99th anniversary celebration.
“Today marks the 99th year of this institution. And I am sure that, for many years to come, whatever the future holds in store for us, the Manila Hotel will be there as a symbol of the tradition of hospitality of all Filipinos, giving our tourists a chance to experience the true warmth of the Filipino people,” the President said in his remarks.
“Rest assured that our administration will do everything in its power – with the cooperation of establishments like the Manila Hotel – to make sure that our tourism industry continues to grow,” he added. (Genalyn D. Kabiling)
