Manila, Philippines – There is no state burial for the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos under the administration of President Benigno S. Aquino III.
The President ruled out yesterday a burial for the late dictator at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City, saying this would be “the height of injustice” for the victims of the Martial Law regime.
“It really would be, I think, the height of injustice to have any honors to the person who was the direct mastermind of all of their sufferings,” Aquino said during a forum hosted by the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines (FOCAP) in Makati City yesterday.
“I think I will not, I am not sanctioning, not under my watch, sanctioning a burial for the late President Marcos,” he said. (Genalyn D. Kabiling)
