Manila, Philippines – Kindergarten teachers in public schools who have not been compensated since June this year are expected to receive their salaries from the Department of Education (DepEd) soon after the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) released over P1.4 billion to implement the government’s pre-school education program.
Last week, DBM released that fund for the DepEd which will cover the P1.38 billion compensation for kindergarten volunteer teachers for the period of June to December 2011.
Luistro said that the funds are to be released “directly to the DepEd regional offices,” said Education Secretary Armin Luistro. (Ina Hernando-Malipot)
