Manila, Philippines – No fund mess happened under the current management of the National Agribusiness Corp. (Nabcor), its employees said yesterday in reaction to reports that the company has lost billions of pesos.
For one, they claimed, Nabcor did not have a single board meeting for six years and all disbursements under the previous management were made by then president Alan Javellana and finance officer Rhodora Mendoza.
As regards the purported mess at the Agrifreeze facility at the Clark Economic Zone in Pampanga, the purchase of the processing complex for export products was completed under Javellana’s watch.
Its former general manager Pong San Luis, they added, can very tell the public that the facility “has gone to seed and its 250 employees would have been retrenched had the unit been shut down.” (Marvyn N. Benaning)
