Cavite, Philippines – Five men shot and killed a bank teller and a security guard and wounded another before they fled with P5 million cash in a daring holdup inside a mall in Dasmarinas City, Cavite, at 10 a.m. yesterday, police said.
Some robbers were believed wounded in the firefight with guards at Robinson’s Place in Pala-Pala, Barangay Sampaloc. Senior Superintendent John C. Bulalacao, Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) director, identified the fatalities as one Rey Tingco, the teller, and a certain Felipe Cipres, the guard. Tingco died at a nearby hospital while Cipres on the spot. Both sustained body wounds.
Wounded was Melu Quinabandal, another guard. Bulalacao said that some holdup perpetrators were also wounded in the incident as there were drips of blood in their escape route. (Anthony Giron)
