Manila, Philippines – At least 13 officials of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) were affected in a first major revamp which its director said is aimed at maximizing the operation against wanted persons.
Director Samuel Pagdilao, CIDG chief, said the reshuffle was made after an evaluation of the performances of all the unit’s ranking officers since he assumed post a few months ago.
“This was carried-out to step-up the campaign of the CIDG against most wanted persons in line with the program of actions of the PNP Chief,“ said Pagdilao. Last month, Director General Nicanor Bartolome, PNP chief, vowed to run after thousands of people in the PNP’s wanted list by setting a quota in accounting wanted persons.
For provincial directors, the quota is at least 100 per month while the CIDG was instructed to arrest at least 50 a month. (Aaron Recuenco)
