It just keeps getting better, with sleek design and high speed processing performance, offers rich Android experience, and with new multimedia applications that will excite every member of the household – that’s what the all-new Dual Core Telpad is today, the world’s first landline and tablet in one that lets customers do much more.
“As part of our corporate commitment of offering our subscribers with quality service, we are rolling out the Dual Core Telpad with its enhanced features and new multimedia capabilities that will allow families to share and bond at home,” said Ariel Fermin, EVP and head of PLDT HOME Business. “Our aim is to transform all PLDT households into a Connected HOME with the Telpad as the third screen along with the TV and PC, providing consumers an integrated approach in offering the best of voice, broadband, music, games and movies.”
The enhancement and roll out of the new Telpad builds on PLDT’s voice and data business’ growth momentum which is projected to reach close to the one billion mark by year end.
Power-packed hardware and software upgrades
The unveiling of the all-new Dual Core Telpad now gives Telpad subscribers more reasons to enjoy the Android experience. With the latest hardware specs packed into the tablet, users are now able to keep up with the ever growing tablet technology.
With its Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system (OS), the Telpad has improved speed, better software and hardware performance allowing subscribers to enjoy compelling new features not available in the previous OS.
The Dual Core Telpad now has faster processing speed with its 1.6GHZ Cortex A9 dual core processor, and 1GB of RAM. Its HDMI capability results in higher resolution, clear and vivid display with wider viewing angles and lower power consumption, as well as brighter IPS (In-Plane Switching) screen.
It also functions similar to a hard drive with its capability to transfer files directly to PC via USB cable and vice-versa. With Bluetooth 3.0 +EDR, it likewise allows faster transfer of files.
The Telpad also supports many video formats, plays high-resolution videos with video playback of 6 hours and standby time of 180 hours.
New Multimedia Content for the Family
With the latest Jelly Bean OS and high-speed dual core processor, the new Telpad provides more room to run new apps, upload more photos, and play music and HD blockbuster movies to suit users’ interactive lifestyle.
The Dual Core Telpad enhances your experience of the three core content pillars: Communication, Entertainment, and Social Media.
“We partnered with the leading providers of popular music, high-definition movies and exciting online games to make the Telpad truly a shared device for all families who enjoy an interactive lifestyle,” said Patrick Tang, head of PLDT HOME Voice Solutions.
First among the communication tools available on the new Dual Core Telpad is the heyÜ application, an exclusive, all-in call service app that allows PLDT subscribers to make free calls from heyÜ to heyÜ.
Telpad subscribers can register up to five numbers they can call using their device through heyÜ. The first number they register is free with the succeeding numbers charged at P75 each. It also provides subscribers the lowest PLDT rates for international calls and for calls made to Smart, Sun and Talk n’ Text.
