Audio in gaming is more than just adding a nice touch of spice to the entire game. It’s the audio that sets the tone of the game. Imagine playing an old school game like Silent Hill with music similar to Pearl Jam, hard to imagine the scare factor still being present.
To immerse deeper into the game world’s action, Creative Sound Blaster Recon 3D Omega Wireless Gaming Headset. It is compatible to PC, Xbox and PS3 units and so far as we’ve tried this out in our gaming consoles, we were blown away by its performance. We played games such as The Last of Us in it, and every Runner that suddenly spotted us got us jumping at the shear clarity of those growling sounds. It’s as if that zombie was standing right beside us. Talk about 3D sound.
Design wise, the Recon 3D Omega has a very techno-modern look, and makes us feel living in a place some time in the distant future. It’s lightweight and comfortable in the ear – best used in a very cold place since your ears start to warm up eventually.
It is very easy to install into a unit and from there you can adjust the settings, even initiate smart sound. That’s where the Sound Blaster Recon 3D software comes to play, being a set of tools to customize your experience as you see fit. In case you’re not very familiar with the technical stuff, here’s a brief walkthrough – Crystalizer function means adding pitch and clarity of the sound. Dialog Plus makes dialogue in movies clearer. Crystal voice is for chat usage, noise reduction and so on. Also, one of the things Creative is quite known for is the CrystalVoice, which changes your voice – which is pretty cool for pranks. Scout Mode basically ups your senses – meaning, you can hear if an enemy or someone in-game is approaching you, and you can actually tell if they’re walking closer to you or farther away.
Battery life lasts up to eight hours, which is more than enough to fulfill some people’s gaming needs. If it’s not enough, then it’s suggested you a take a quick rest anyway after eight-straight hours of gaming. Charging the unit takes five hours, so it’s best to plug it in immediately after using it, so when you decide to use it again, you’re all set for another long lasting gaming experience.
So, if you happen to be seeking out a head gear to add a fresh and intense experience, might be worth a shot to this and get the feel for yourself. As for us, we loved this device a lot, and definitely feel it’s worth the buck.
