Chikka, the creator of the well-loved text messaging application, recently joined peace advocates from all over the country at the People Power Monument for the inauguration of the EDSA-Bayanihan Peace Mural, a 3,770 meters-long wall art showcasing different scenarios of peace as well as positive Filipino values.
The company, whose name is also synonymous to “small talk,” is honored to be part of the historic event for peace and the making of what could be the longest peace mural in the world.
“Chikka has always aimed to bridge the gap between Filipinos abroad and their families here in the Philippines,” says Junie Agcaoili, Corporate Communications Director of Chikka Philippines. “This advocacy of peace re-affirms our mission as a company to unite Filipinos wherever they may be.”
The inauguration was the culmination of many activities by thousands of volunteers under Project EDSA: Lakbay para sa KapaYapaAn sa EDSA, which was organized by the Asia America Initiative (AAI), a non-profit charitable and educational organization; in partnership with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process (OPAPP), the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and iVolunteer Philippines.
