The GCASH American Express Virtual Pay, a pioneering innovation from GCASH, the mobile money service of Globe Telecom, was proclaimed winner of the prestigious Gold Stevie Award from the Annual International Business Awards.
Besting entries from PR One in Korea, Finansbank and Isbank in Turkey, and RSA Insurance in Canada, GCASH American Express Virtual Pay became the biggest winner for the Marketing Campaign of the Year – New Product or Service category, a new category for 2013.
GCASH American Express Virtual Pay is a virtual card linked to a user’s GCASH wallet that allows a secure way of shopping from online retail sites that accept American Express as mode of payment.
It enables users to buy apps or shop conveniently online from both local and international app stores and sites. It also gives them a personalized U.S. address to allow delivery of purchases right to their doorsteps.
The GCASH American Express Virtual Pay also boasts of low shipping charges, accessibility of account information on the mobile phone, and a convenient cash-in process from the subscriber’s bank account or through any of over 7,000 GCASH outlets nationwide.
The success of the product has seen subscriber base growing by over 200% from October 2012 to April 2013. It also drove a 180% increase in the subscriber’s average daily transaction count and generated 100% positive feedback on social networking sites.
