The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters aren’t waving the white flag just yet.
Rain or Shine battled back from as much as nine points in the third quarter and stepped up their defense in the fourth to live another day, winning game three with a hard-earned 92-87 victory.
The Elasto Painters managed to overtake Petron at the 2:38 mark, 88-85, courtesy of a Jeff Chan three-pointer.
Arizona Reid added two more to make it 90-85 before Petron’s Arwind Santos nailed a jumper to make it 90-87. Two splits by Reid practically accounted for the final tally.
“We made some three-point shots today as opposed to last game,” said coach Yeng Guiao in the post game interview.
“I guess we are just trying to prolong the series and make a series out of it. If we can win a Monday, then we can make a serious attempt at the finals” he added.
Game 4 is set on Monday, October 7 over at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
“We’ll try to use this as capital to encourage ourselves to keep on fighting. We just need to grind it out. There will never be easy games. But just the same, we want make it hard for them to win against us. We want to reciprocate by not giving them easy games” coach Guiao ended. (Brian Yalung)
