Manila, Philippines – Petron Blaze forward Arwind Santos failed to capitalize and overtake Barangay Ginebra point guard LA Tenorio in the Statistical Points race for the Best Player of the Conference (BPC) in the Governors’ Cup after the semifinal stage.
The 5-foot-8 Tenorio remains on top of the SP category with an average of 32.7 SP despite the Kings’ missing the semifinal round of the season-ending conference. He averaged 15.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and a league-best 9.3 assists while adding 1.3 steals through 11 games.
The 6-foot-3 Santos actually trimmed Tenorio’s lead in the BPC derby after the quarterfinals, finishing with 32.3 SP to Tenorio’s 32.7 SP.
However, at the end of the semifinal round, the SP average of Santos dropped to 31.4, although he averaged solid numbers of 9.3 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 shot blocks through four games in the Final Four against Rain or Shine.
