Games Today (Ynares Sports Arena, Pasig City)
12 noon – M-Builders vs Wangs
2 p.m. – Arellano vs Hog’s Breath
4 p.m. – Cebuana vs CafeFrance
CafeFrance resumes its bid to barge in the win column when it battles Cebuana Lhuillier today in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Bakers are coming off an opening day defeat to early leader Cagayan Valley last week and coach Egay Macaraya’s squad is determined to bounce back against University of the East-flavored Gems in the 4 p.m. duel.
Zambales M-Builders looks to recover from a heartbreaking 91-87 loss to Cagayan against the debuting Wang’s Ballclub at 12 noon while Arellano-Air21 likewise start its inaugural campaign opposite Hog’s Breath at 2 p.m.
Despite stellar performances from the trio of Ping Exciminiano, Eliud Poligrates and Josan Nimes, CafeFrance lost steam in the final three minutes to absorb an 83-74 loss to the Rising Suns exactly a week ago.
Exciminiano led the way with 16 points while Poligrates and Nimes added 14 markers apiece for the Bakers.
Both Exciminiano and Poligrates are using the conference to hone their skills in hopes of attracting pro clubs who may select them in Sunday’s PBA Rookie Draft at Robinsons Malate.
Standing in CafeFrance’s attempt to nail a victory is Cebuana which will be bolstered mostly of players from University of the East and its coach Boycie Zamar.
Zamar has enlisted the services of UAAP Mythical Five member Roi Sumang, who will make his D-League debut.
