The verdict is finally out and the Beermen have replaced former NBA veteran Josh Boone.
San Miguel Beer has decided to proceed with its plan to replace Josh Boone in favor of Kevin Jones despite two impressive outings that resulted in a fiery 2-0 start for the franchise.
This was confirmed through a text message from head coach Biboy Ravanes this morning:
“We would like to thank Josh for his effort and professionalism. He showed a lot of heart while wearing a Beerman uniform. We look forward to enjoying Josh’s future success as he will always be a member of the Beermen Family.”
Boone had a remarkable first outing, debuting with 16 points and 16 rebounds and lead the Beermen to a 94-76 victory over the Meralco Bolts.
Boone suited up again for the Beermen in their game against sister team Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, this time putting up monster numbers, scoring 32 points and 21 rebounds in a 112-96 of the Kings.
Boone actually got the Best Player of the Game nod with that performance.
