Game Today (MOA Arena)
3:30 p.m. – NLEX vs Blackwater Sports
The NLEX Road Warriors will have all their attention in Game 2 of the PBA D-League Foundion Cup Finals on Monday as they try to put away defending champion Blackwater Sports and clinch their sixth championship.
Led by Ronald Pascual’s explosive second quarter, the Road Warriors dominated the Elite on the way to a 90-77 victory in Game 1 of their best-of-three series.
The 6-3 shooting guard finished with 17 points including 4 of 7 shooting from the 3-point range. He also had six rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes on the floor.
“We’re very certain [Blackwater] will make some adjustments but we’ll be ready,” said NLEX coach Boyet Fernandez.
Game 2 is set at 3:30 p.m. at the MOA Arena.
Undoubtedly, the Road Warriors are determined to finish off the defending champions to avenge their only loss in the Finals against Elite last year.
For added motivation, the Road Warriors are one win away from a perfect conference. NLEX remains unbeaten in 12 games in the season-ending conference.
Before the series started, Blackwater Sports coach Leo Isaac said he believes both teams are evenly matched man for man. It doesn’t seem so in Game 1.
The defending champs apparently lack the physical and mental toughness to compete against Road Warriors.
