Fil-American guard Stanley Pringle has reached a “verbal agreement” with Globalport which will pick him top overall pick in the PBA rookie draft.
Globalport’s PBA governor Erick Arejola said Pringle was set to arrive last night.
BJ Manalo, Globalport’s team manager, clarified that Pringle has not signed any contract with the team, which will only happen once the Batang Pier officially select Penn State stalwart in the draft.
Only then that Pringle can sign a deal with the franchise.
“It’s a good sign that he’ll be here,” said Manalo, who – together with Arejola – will meet Pringle at the airport. “There was initial negotiation”
The PBA Rookie Draft is set Aug. 24 at the Robinson’s in Ermita, Manila, while the combined draft – where height, weight, leaping ability and speed will be measured – is scheduled Monday and Tuesday at the Hoops Gym in Mandaluyong City.
