SEOUL, South Korea – PBA Grand Slam champion San Mig Super Coffee will take a side trip as the team will watch the game between Gilas Pilipinas and Mongolia in the classifi cation stage of the 2014 Incheon Asian Games here.
Relegated to the battle for seventh place after losing to China last Monday, the national team hopes to end its already disappointing Asiad campaign on a winning note and the Mixers will be there to provide support.
In particular, San Mig will cheer for its own player on the national team – forward Marc Jean Pingris.
“We’re a family so gusto namin ipakita yung suporta kay Ping. Ang buong team manonood,” said Rene Pardo, a former league chairman who represents San Mig in the PBA Board of Governors.
The league board is here for its annual meeting, while San Mig is here for a four-game series against teams from the Korean Basketball League (KBL) as part of its preparation for the 40th PBA Season starting Oct. 19.
San Mig Coffee has lost back-to-back games, against former KBL champion Seoul SK Knights (68-108) and Wonju Dongbu Promy (66-79). The Mixers will face Anyang KGC Tuesday night and another KBL team on Thursday before returning to Manila on Friday.
