Games Monday (JCSGO Gym, Cubao Quezon City)
12 n.n. – Café France vs AMA University
2 p.m. – MJM Builders vs MP Hotel
4 p.m. – Wangs Basketball vs Cebuana Lhuillier
AMA University will be fighting on dear life today as it faces the red-hot CafeFrance in the PBA DLeague Aspirants Cup today at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao, Quezon City.
Sitting at eighth place with a 3-6 record, the Titans still has an outside shot of making the quarterfinals assuming they sweep their remaining two games and none of the teams above them in Bread Story (3-5) and Tanduay Light (4-6) wins another game.
They’ll be facing a tall order though as they face the Bakers who are riding high on getting their first ever twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
The Bakers are fresh off a 72-67 overtime victory over the Cebuana Lhuillier Gems last Thursday and they have no plans of slowing down.
That would sound like bad news for the Titans who are in desperation mode right now after dropping their final three games.
“All our remaining games are must-win situations,” said Café France coach Egay Macaraya. “Hopefully, we could run and catch up the running game of AMA.”
The Titans hope that they get more from their new recruits in James Martinez and Marcy Arellano who will be playing their second game for coach Mark Herrera.
The two will have their hands full as they face a loaded CafeFrance backcourt led by impressive Fil-American rookie Maverick Ahanmisi and Mon Abundo.
In other games, Cebuana Lhuillier (4-4) will look to secure its seat in the quarterfi nals as it takes Wangs Baketball (2-6) in the final game.
A battle of already-ran squads ensues at 2 p.m. when MP Hotel (1-7) faces MJM Builders (2-6).
