Games Today Ynares Arena
1 p.m. – MP Hotel vs Tanduay Light
3 p.m. – Jumbo Plastic vs AMA University
AMA University will be hard pressed to win against Jumbo Plastic today to bolster its bid for playoff berth in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup.
The well-rested Titans [3-4] improved their chances of making the next round with a 107-80 victory over Kera Mix last week that should boost their confidence heading into the 3 o’clock encounter with the struggling Giants at the Ynares Arena.
Dexter Maiquez and James Martinez shared scoring honors with 23 points and three other Titans contributed in double figures in the crucial victory.
“We have two games left in the eliminations and I’m confident we will win them both and make it to the next round. The one week break also allowed us to recharge and make some adjustment,” said AMA coach Mark Herrera.
In contrast, Jumbo Plastic [2-3] tries to avoid a third straight loss to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Giants have lost their last two games by an average 15 points so coach Stevenson Tiu is keeping his fingers crossed that their two-week break would do them better instead of turning his troop rusty.
Tanduay Light also makes a playoff push when they takes on skidding MP Hotel in the first game at 1 p.m.
A second straight win by the Rhum Masters [2-4], who are coming off a 92-76 rout of Liver Marin [1-5], would keep them in the hunt for playoff berth.
The Warriors, in ninth spot with a 1-4 mark, have a slim chance of making the playoffs but will have to sweep their remaining four games in the elimination round.
