Games Today (San Juan Arena)
10 a.m. – Jumbo Plastic vs Café France
12 nn. – Hapee vs Cebuana Lhuillier
They are one win away from their target and Café France coach Egay Macaraya wouldn’t want the opportunity to slip away.
“Our modest goal is to make at least the semifinal of every conference. The players are well aware the prospect this conference looks good and they are excited about it. They know the possible complications and they are determined to get the job done,” Macaraya said.
Café France [6-2] can clinch the second outright semifinal berth in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup with a second straight win against the unpredictable Jumbo Plastic Giants on Monday to close out its elimination round assignment.
“This will be a tough game. Jumbo is still in contention and needs to win as badly as we do. The team who wants it more will win it,” said Macaraya of the scheduled 10 o’clock encounter at The Arena in San Juan.
The Giants [3-3] snapped a two-game skid with a 79-78 win against AMA University last May 7. Jumbo Plastic coach Steven Tiu could only hope the 10-day break would not take away their momentum.
League leader Cebuana Lhuillier, on the hand, tries to preserve its unbeaten record when it takes on Aspirants’ Cup champion Hapee at 12 noon.
Coach Boysie Zamar said the duel will be an acid test for the Gems, who have clinched the first outright semifinal berth.
