CEBU CITY – The Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) 7 yesterday said the smaze, a combination of smoke and haze, that covered the Cebu skies during the weekend has thinned out and that the quality of air in Cebu is now getting better.
The EMB 7 announced that the presence of dust particles around Metro Cebu went down to allowable levels as per their latest 24-hour monitoring.
But according to EMB 7 Regional Director William Cuñado, even if it is lower than the standard, the presence of 2.5 particulate matter still makes it a threat to the public.
For this, the bureau said those who are elderly and sick, especially people suffering from asthma, should continue wearing protective masks to avoid getting respiratory complications.
