ROSARIO, Cavite – A woman supervisor reportedly committed suicide last Monday night by hanging herself inside a rented boarding house at Cavite College of Arts and Trades (CCAT) compound in Barangay Tejeros Convention, this municipality, police reported Tuesday.
There were at least seven suicide incidents that were reported in the whole Cavite province this month, Police Provincial Office (PPO) reports showed.
PO3 Ellezer Causaren Tagalog, case investigator, identified the fatality as Maria Virginia Antilano Herrera, 30, a City of Dreams firm supervisor and a native of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Herrera was declared dead on arrival at Contreras Hospital, also in Rosario, where her body was brought by her alleged live-in-partner, Mark Lester Pascual Manlilic, 32, Tagalog reported.
Herrera used a black coaxial cable (television cable wire) in hanging herself.
Manlilic found Herrera hanging at about 10:30 p.m. Monday, according to Tagalog.
The investigator reported that the couple had a spat earlier in the day. Initial investigation conducted showed that Herrera had made known her intention in one of her text messages to Manlilic at around 5 p.m. saying “tatapusin ko na ang problemang ito.”
Reports of suicide incidents were prevalent in Cavite province, it was noted.
Cavite is the country’s most populous area.
The incidents happened in both lowland and upland districts, PPO reports showed.
