MEXICO CITY (AFP) – Newly-crowned three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton was sent spinning on Friday when he returned to action at the slippery Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in practice for this weekend’s Mexican Grand Prix.
The 30-year-old Briton said conditions at the circuit were “challenging, but fun’’ and added that it was “crazy how slippery it is out there’’.
Hamilton was 11th quickest in opening free practice in the morning and fourth in afternoon as the surface improved and provided increasing grip. He spun at Turn Five and almost spun again at Turn 13 where he flat-spotted the tyres of his Mercedes car.
