About P1.2 million in properties were lost in a fire that hit a residential area in Pasay City Friday. Around 30 families were rendered homeless while 15 houses made of light materials wre destroyed in the fire that started at 6:38 p.m. on I. Santos St., Barangay 172, Zone 11, Malibay, Pasay fire marshal Douglas Guiyab said.
Guiyab said the fire allegedly started from the house of Merly Goto, whose caretaker Ruel Aquino sustained first degree burns in the body. The fire reached fourth alarm and was declared fire out at 10:24 p.m.
Firefighters had a hard time extinguishing the fire due to the narrow streets. The cause of fire is still under investigation, Guiyab said. (Rachel Joyce E. Burce)
