PANIQUI, Tarlac – A dentist who allegedly became a peddler of illegal drugs was arrested along with two others at his rented house in Barangay Patalan, this town, police reported yesterday.
In his report, police chief Superintended Salvador Destura Jr. said the suspect, Dr. Epifanio Cabalu Castro, 54, was nabbed while in possession of eight grams of shabu.
Police were armed with a search warrant issued by a court when they raided Castro’s house following reports that he was allegedly peddling illegal drugs.
Lawmen found in house a digital micro-weighing scale, drug paraphernalia and used plastic sachet of shabu. “Sinira ng drugs ang buhay ni Doc Castro.
Nang malulong na siya sa drugs at hindi na makapag-practice, nagtulak na siya ng droga”, said Inspector Marty Calara who led a month-long surveillance on Castro’s activities.
Also arrested with Castro were his live-in partner Rufino Divina Fernandez, 49, of Barangay San Miguel, San Manuel town, and Sarhani Rumpun Diko, 18, of Purok 4 Extension, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. (Mar T. Supnad)
