SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – Police arrested a wanted robbery group leader and six persons involved in illegal drugs during the “Oplan One Time, Big Time” in the villages of Camansi, Sevilla and Catbangen, this city, over the weekend.
Supt. Julius C. Suriben, city police chief, said Lorenzo G. Mendoza, also known as “Inzo”, alleged leader of the “Mendoza gun-for-hire group”, was nabbed at around 8 p.m. inside his house in Barangay Camansi, based on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Asuncion Mandia of Regional Trial Court Branch 29 here.
Mendoza was tagged as suspect in the killing of Dominique Pineda, a security guard, on February 28, 2015 and a certain Eric Dioniso on December 11, 2014, both happened in this city. “Their group operates in La Union and Pangasinan; engaged not only in robbery but also killings and drug pushing,” Suriben added.
Suriben reported to Mayor Pablo C. Ortega and Senior Supt. Angelito Dumangeng, La Union police director, that seven criminal gangs engaged in robbery, gun-for-hire and illegal drugs in the province were arrested in their five-day operations.
The six other arrested drug suspects were identified as Jayvee T. del Rosario, 32; John Leo V. Ordinario, 29; Marden D. Ancheta, 33, tricycle driver; Mark Christopher Park, Joseph Flores, and Jovito Tadifa. The anti-crime operations that were covered with search warrants resulted in the seizure of 20 sachet of shabu, a magnum .22-caliber revolver, ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
