The Miami Heat may have to go up against the Minnesota Timberwolves with one guard down with reports that guard Gerald Green has been hit with an undisclosed illness.
TMZ reports that witnesses at the lobby of the condo where Green was staying saw the Heat shooting guard acting strangely and eventually screaming profusely. Such led to a huge commotion and it took emergency personnel to try and restrain Green and place him on a stretcher into an ambulance.
When word of the incident came out, the Miami Heat issued an official statement on Green:
“This morning we were informed that Gerald Green was admitted into the hospital. Right now our concerns are with Gerald and we have no further comment at this time.”
Green was already out in the Heat’s match against the Atlanta Hawks though it is unclear if this was connected with what had transpired.
Green signed a one-year deal with the Heat for the 2015-16 NBA season. So far in three games, Green has averaged 10.3 points in 21.3 minutes per outing. (BRIAN YALUNG)
