PBA board chairman Robert Non yesterday has been named officer in charge after accepting the resignation of Chito Salud as president and chief executive officer of the league.
Non made the announcement himself after yesterday’s special board meeting at the PBA office in Libis, Quezon City which lasted nearly three hours.
The San Miguel representative said he will assume Salud’s positions on the second day of the 2016 since Salud’s resignation will take effect at the end of this month.
“The board reaches a decision, and we accepted the resignation, with much regret, of Chito Salud as President and CEO,” said Non.
Non had tried to call Salud, who did not attend the meeting, to inform him personally of the decision but the two were not able to talk.
“The board (also) decided to appoint in an acting capacity until a replacement has been found, “ Non said. “ In a corporation normally ganun naman.”
