CafeFrance continued its killing spree in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup as it handed UP – QRS/Jam Liner its first defeat in the tournament with a 94-73 wire to wire victory yesterday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The Bakers got off to an 11-0 start, a lead they never relinquished as they continued to pile up the points, even at one point taking a 27 point lead, 74-47 in the second half.
Five players breached double-digits for coach Egay Macaraya led by former Far Eastern University stalwart Carl Bryan Cruz who finished with 15 points.
The win allowed the Bakers to move to 3-0 and tie Caida at the top of the standings.
“The boys played very well. Na-execute nila yung game plan. We had a very good start and biglang nawala yung laro yung UP. Credit to the boys talaga,” said Macaraya.
Rod Ebondo had another steady performance with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
