The Chief Executive is turning out to be the No. 1 dedicated campaigner of Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo.
Juggling his presidential duty and campaign work, the President traveled to Camarines Sur yesterday to rally support behind the candidates of Roxas and Robredo in the May elections.
Prior to the campaign rallies in Iriga City and Naga City, Aquino inaugurated a road widening project in Pili, Camarines Sur.
Joining the President in his Camarines Sur visit were Social Welfare and Development Secretary Dinky Soliman, Budget and Management Secretary Butch Abad, and Transportation and Communications Secretary Joseph Emilio T. Abaya.
In his speech in Pili, the President encouraged the residents of Camarines Sur to support Roxas and Robredo, saying they are honest and competent public servants who put the interest of the country above self.
Aquino also attested to the integrity and competence of Roxas and Robredo, citing that they have not been dragged in any corruption anomaly.
With Roxas and Robredo, Aquino said the nation can be assured they would certainly continue and expand the gains of the “Daang Matuwid” (Straight Path) governance.
During his trip to Naga, the President also visited the grave of the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse M. Robredo.
With Roxas, Leni Robredo, and his Cabinet men, Aquino offered silent prayers for the late Secretary Robredo.
