Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano has admitted that she was not ready to fall in love with actor Enrique Gil.
“Basta ang sinabi ko po sa kanya ay bigyan n’ya po ako ng time na paghandaan ‘yung sarili ko,” said Soberano, during an interview in “Tonight With Boy Abunda” aired over ABS-CBN.
When asked how long should Gil wait, Soberano said: “I just really need to be sure. It can be tomorrow, hindi natin alam.”
Gil, 23, and Soberano, 18, are appearing in the new Kapamilya prime time series “Dolce Amor” which begins on February 15. It replaced “Pangako Sa’Yo” which aired its finale last Feb. 12.
In the new series, Gil plays an orphan named “Tenten” while Soberano is “Serena” an Italian who traces her roots in the Philippines.
Encounter with The Vamps
Gil also denied reports that he was jealous of James McVey, one of the members of the British pop rock band The Vamps who staged a concert in the country recently.
“She invited me to watch the concert and sinamahan n’ya ako. Sabi ko sige. Hindi ko talaga sila kilala. Puro babae, teen girls ang nanu-nuod, Sabi ko hindi ko talaga crowd ito. Sabi n’ya andito ka na samahan mo na lang ako,” the actor said.
Soberano said that they also met the members of the boy band after the concert.
“Hindi naman kami nag-expect na makikita namin ‘yung The Vamps. Nung nag-aantay po kami sa elevator sa baba biglang lumabas din sila. Sabi ni James and Bradley (Simpson) hi! how are you? and then they hugged us,” the actress said.
Gil also said that Soberano was supposed to appear in The Vamps YouTube channel but did not push through.
“They wanted her to appear in a video. Sabi ko that’s good you will be known around the world. YouTube video lang ‘yun okay lang naman ‘yun because she will be noticed around the world. Basta raw kasama ako pero hindi naman natuloy ‘yun,” Gil added.
Gil denied that he was jealous of Matteo Guidicelli, who co-stars in the new series. “He is like a brother to me.”
Guidicelli and Soberano shot some parts of “Dolce” in Italy for 10 days.
Personality
Soberano also said that she was more focused on personality than beauty.
“I don’t put into my head na sobrang ganda ko. But the pressure that comes with it was that people always expect you to be prim and proper all the time when I just wanna go out on my joggers and my T-shirt and I don’t really care how I dress up. I just wanna be comfy,” she said.
“Mas importante talaga ‘yung value kung ano ‘yung pinapakita mo sa tao, ‘yung mga katangian mo. When it comes to personality and pananamit, I’d rather be myself than having to portray this image na hindi naman ako,” Soberano added.
Gil and Soberano were last seen in the successful teleserye “Forevermore” in 2015.
Fans of LizQuen can also watch them in the 15-episode series entitled “Forever And More” under ABS-CBN Mobile.
