LEGAZPI CITY – Why do Albayanos will vote Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo?
In front of thousands of people here, Albay Gov. Joey Salceda counted the reasons why Albay will vote for administration standard-bearer Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo, focusing on the various programs and projects that have been successfully implemented here.
First, Salceda said the Aquino administration has been very instrumental in the expansion of the Philhealth that now officially covers more than 203,000 people in the province.
But even if an Albayano is not included in the Philhealth list, Salceda said they could still avail of the privileges of a Philhealth member since there is an existing agreement between the Philhealth management and the provincial government that all Albayanos are covered.
Aside from Philhealth coverage, Salceda also showed photos of hospitals being constructed in at least three towns of the province.
In terms of the Cash Conditional Transfer (CCT), he said there are 77,382 families currently benefiting from the program out of the 247,682 families in the province.
“Those beneficiaries include families who are vulnerable to become very poor. So even if we are typhoons, our economy does not break because of this strategy of this administration,” Salceda told his constituents at the Albay Astrodome.
In terms of education, the popular Albay governor said the province now ranks 19th in National Admission Test across the country, a big leap from the 177th ranking when he assumed post in 2007.
“We would have never succeeded had it not for the help of the national government,” Salceda reminded Albayanos.
