Manny Pacquiao is turning to basketball once again to help him get ready for his rubber match with Tim Bradley.
No, Pacquiao is not suiting up for Mahindra in the PBA anytime soon.
Instead, the eight-division champion is using dribbling as a way to strengthen his arms and shoulders.
The past few weeks, Pacquiao has been seen dribbling two balls using his left and right, something the 37-year-old lefty believes is working wonders.
“Nakakatulong sa braso ko para madali kong naisusuntok ng mabilis,” said Pacquiao, who kicked off training camp proper with Freddie Roach last Monday in General Santos City.
The routine, Paquiao adds, also helps him regain his confidence back following surgery on his right shoulder.
But these bizarre training methods will cease once Pacquiao’s buildup enters the most crucial stage and this could take place when Roach begins to preside over the preparations at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood.
Roach is recalling Lydell Rhodes to spar anew with Pacquiao and he and another sparmate are expected to arrive in the country on Monday.
As soon as Roach made his presence felt in GenSan, Pacquiao immediately responded and showed up for morning roadwork on Monday and yesterday, a schedule that will be commonplace everyday (except Sunday) until they depart for the US in the first week of March.
