An emotional Boy Abunda joined the LGBT community in lambasting Rep. Manny Pacquiao of Sarangani who earlier said that gays are worse than animals.
asked Abunda, at the start of his show “Tonight With Boy Abunda” aired over ABS-CBN.
Abunda, a confessed gay personality, also said he would not vote for candidates who do not treat gays right.
Manny, ang kasagutan ang salita mo, common sense,” the multi-awarded talk show host said.
Abunda admitted that he was deeply hurt by Pacquiao’s remarks.
“It has been a difficult day. This has not been an easy day.
Abunda said that he recalled defending Pacquiao over issued related to same-sex marriage in 2012.
“Sometime in 2012, in defense of Pacquiao, Manny said in his interview with the Associated Press na I do not condemn gays because meron akong pamangkin, pinsan, kaibigan, kamag-anak but I’m against same-sex marriage,” Abunda said.
He added “Sabi ko iginagalang ko ang opinyon na ito dahil in this world, there is space for respectful, for vibrant debate.
But Abunda said that Pacquiao crossed the line in her new remarks about homosexuals.
I am lower than an animal?” Abunda asked.
“I am not begging Manny Pacquiao for dignity. I am not begging for respect. I am not begging you for my humanity because you do not own my humanity. Akin yun that’s my birth right.
