“I started with this record label back in 2007. In 2009, we started music distribution.
“With the help of social media, it will be easier for every album to get that media exposure.
“Before kasi, walang mga ganyan. A singer has to get bookings from TV shows para makapag-promote ng album or even a single.
“Ngayon kasi, wala nang masyadong ganyan kaya social media is the best medium to let the whole world know that we have this great album that they can download and listen to,” pahayag pa ni Jay-R.
“Lahat ng artists that we signed up have artistic freedom.
“We are not at the mercy of any recording company telling us na ganito dapat ang music mo para it will appeal to a bigger audience.
“Yes we want our music to sell pero we also want our own music to be heard.
Kaya we are here to tap that market,” diin pa niya.
“This is what I’m concentrating on now. I want each album ng bawat artist namin ay may magandang airplay and they are getting exposure on social media.
“I enjoy doing this because ever since I started in singing, I’ve always wanted to create new sound and share it with music-lovers out there.
“Gusto naming ipaalam that we have such great singers and songwriters. We are for original music. So please support OPM music,” pakiusap pa ni Jay-R.
Nakilala sa music scene ang 35-year old na si Jay-R (Gaudencio Sillona III in real life) dahil sa hit OPM single niyang “Bakit Pa Ba?” in 2003. (RUEL J. MENDOZA)
