The vote-rich province of Cebu was the latest campaign stop of President Aquino as part of his indefatigable effort to woo support for his anointed one.
The President has called on Cebu residents to support the Liberal Party team of Mar Roxas and Leni Robredo in order to sustain the gains under his presidency.
The President said the country has achieved much in the past five years and such success story could be expanded if like-minded leaders are elected in office.
Kung tama itong landas na binabagtas natin, matanong ko lang po: Bakit naman natin ihihinto, o ililihis sa ibang direksyon?,” Aquino said during the inauguration of a Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.-funded school building in Cebu City.
Prior to his Cebu visit, Aquino visited Bohol last Wednesday to attract support for the Roxas-Robredo team in the May polls. Aquino is the chairman of the ruling Liberal Party.
The President, in the same speech, cautioned the Cebuano voters against candidates who are corrupt, inexperienced, and abusive. It was an obvious swipe against Roxas’ rivals in the presidential elections, namely Vice President Jejomar C. Binay, Sen. Grace Poe, and Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte.
