ACE comedian Vice Ganda has said that he will prove to the late iconic comedy director Wenn V. Deramas that he has learned so many things from him now that he is on his own.
The late night talk show was broadcast live from the Arlington Chapels in Quezon City at the wake of Deramas and his sister Myra Ann. Deramas died from heart attack on Feb. 29, 2016.
Vice Ganda described the death of Deramas as “very Wenn” who he said always wanted to make big scenes.
“Very Wenn kasi kasalukuyang may malaking nagaganap na eksena sa Hollywood, ’yung Oscars, at may pasabog din s’ya.
Gusto n’ya ng big scene, gusto n’ya unkabogable s’ya. Leap year, para s’ya lang ’yung director na ganun, para ‘yung babang luksa after four years na. Gusto n’ya kakaiba sya. Niloloko ko nga ’yan, sabi ko, lagi s’yang pa pom-pom,” he said.
Vice Ganda also believed that Deramas would be pleased with all the tributes for him these days.
Pag New Year, pag birthday n’ya, lagi syang may piging. Pero kapag nakikipagharutan yan, gustong-gusto ka n’yan,” said the “It’s Showtime” host.
Deramas made a box-office star out of Vice Ganda in the blockbuster movies “Petrang Kabayo” (2000), “The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin,” (2011), “Sisterakas,” “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy” (2013), “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” (2014), and “Beauty and Bestie” (2015).
Vice Ganda said he and direk Wenn clicked as a team in show business because he gave him the creative freedom.
“We have reached that certain level of love and closeness.
Vice Ganda believes that the biggest achievement of direk Wenn was that he became a good provider for his family.
He became the best son, the best brother to his siblings, and the best father to his children. For me that’s his biggest achievement,” he said.
Deramas will be laid to rest at the Himlayang Pilipino in Tandang Sora, Quezon City today (March 6, Sunday), after the 10 a.m. Mass.
