FANS of Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz shuddered in delight when he revealed that he sleeps in his birthday suit.
Cruz made the revelation during an appearance with actor Piolo Pascual in “Tonight with Boy Abunda” aired over ABS-CBN recently.
The actors had just arrived from their successful stint at the 2016 Berlin Film Festival where the movie “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis” won the Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize.
Asked by Abunda, “suot mo pag natutulog,” Cruz said: “Wala!” Then Cruz added: “Minsan po cologne.”
Cruz, 32, who just broke off with actress Angelica Panganiban, almost admitted that he was in love in the same interview.
“I’m a work in progress,” said Cruz, when Abunda asked him if he was in love these days.
Cruz is now linked to Bea Alonzo, his co-star in the blockbuster film “A Second Chance.” But Cruz maintained that he and Alonzo were just friends.
Cruz is finishing his movie with Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado entitled “Just the 3 of Us” under Star Cinema.
At the same show, Cruz revealed that Pascual was interested in Mercado. “He asked me, “How’s Jennylyn?” Cruz roared into laughter as he referred to Pascual.
Pascual, 39, is currently shooting a light romantic-comedy film with Dawn Zulueta and Coleen Garcia. He will also star in the new Kapamilya teleserye “Written in the Stars” opposite Toni Gonzaga.
When Pascual was asked who he would choose if Dawn and Coleen were still single, he said: “I’ll just sleep on it. Pero mahirap pumili kasi magkaiba sila ng intelligence and charm.”
Cruz also said that he was starstruck with Oscar award-winning actress Meryl Streep who led the 2016 jurors at the Berlin Film Festival.
“I was like a stupid dude. Most of the time she was talking to me habang tulala lang ako. Hindi ako makapaniwalang Meryl Streep was asking me a question. Naghihintay s’ya ng sagot ko habang nakatingin lang ako sa kanya,” Cruz recalled.
Cruz and Pascual were all praises for Lav Diaz who directed the eight-hour Filipino epic movie “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis which is expected to be shown in local theaters before the national elections.
“Ibang klase ang style ni direk Lav. Ang take away namin sa kanya rock and roll eh. Most of the scenes were Take 1.
He respects his actors as well. He hardly gives instructions. Kung ano ang ibibigay mo, he respects that,” Pascual added.
“He’s like no one else. He gives you total freedom. Pero hindi pwedeng tatanga-tanga sa set n’ya. Nakakahiya because kaya ka n’ya kinuha not because maraming manunuod sa ‘yo kundi you have to do your part,” Cruz said.
